About Jess Louise

Hi there! My name is Jess, and I am 44 years young. I work as a trauma-informed coach, counsellor & intuitive guide, and am the proud mama of three amazing kids. Officially diagnosed ADHD’er since early 2021 and fibromyalgia since 2013. My journey has taken me from upstate New York where I was born and raised to the heart of the Netherlands, where I’ve called home for the past 20 years. 

Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm a creative soul at heart, and writing as well as other creative art forms have been my lifelong passion. Coming from a family full of artists, I guess the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree.

Much of my work has been inspired by a variety of life experiences, both beautiful and also catastrophic. From growing up in a broken home filled with abuse, domestic violence, alcoholism, mental health issues and more to navigating divorce, self-harm, homelessness, the deconstruction of almost a lifelong faith and spiritual awakenings.

My stories are not for the faint of heart, and I am unfortunately no stranger when it comes to complex trauma. Art has been and will always be my medicine. Without it, healing would’ve always remained out of reach. Even in and especially during my darkest of days, laying myself bare through words, song, visual expression and the like has been crucial for me to overcome all that literally tried to take me out at various points in my life thus far. Creativity will always be my saviour for this very reason.

I hope you’ll join me on this adventure as I continue to pour out my heart and soul through various forms of creative expression that have been such an integral part of my story.

Fun Facts About Me:

*I’m left-handed, mostly. I write with my left hand, , but I play guitar and bat with my right hand. I guess that makes me somewhat ambidextrous?

*I absolutely love musicals and romantic comedies. I also have a dry, witty, and sarcastic sense of humor. One of my favourite film quotes is, “But did you die?” I feel like it says everything, especially to my kids. They’re not so impressed though.

*I love fresh flowers. Roses, sunflowers and orchids are probably my favourites, but I just love vibrant colours and the sweetness from any flowers in my home. It really brightens my day!

*I’m in love with matcha lattes, pistachios, popcorn made with coconut oil & Himalayan salt, and sushi. Oh, and I love dark chocolate too, especially with raspberries.
